Ben became the managing attorney of the housing team at the Legal Aid Society of Columbus in 2014. He attended Notre Dame Law School where he was the co-recipient of the Dean Konop Legal Aid Award in 1999-2000. Ben began his legal career as a staff attorney at the Chillicothe office of Southeastern Ohio Legal Services (SEOLS) in 2000. He transferred to the Newark office in 2002, and then served as the managing attorney of the Lancaster office for eight years before joining LASC. Prior to attending law school, Ben worked in Hiroshima, Japan, as an English instructor, and then as a translator and assistant project manager for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Since joining LASC, Ben has put a focus on working with Code Enforcement and the City Attorneys on improving housing conditions for Columbus’ 200,000 tenants.
